Bleh!

Teagan is loving school, thriving and is out going as ever, but for some reason her kindergarten experience is bringing out my social anxiety, feelings of inadequacy and awkwardness! I don't want it to affect her, it sucks. I see other moms effortlessly volunteer, get involved, etc... I feel out of place, inferior & lack confidence..... I didn't feel this way with Alexis. I wasn't real involved with Masons stuff because I had Teagan. I need to get over this.

Still trying to get positive forces to come my way....

It's been an eventful week!! Last week after my day of acts of kindness, I went to QT for my morning drink, and ironically didn't have my debit card or cash! I ended up having to go to my car and scrounge for change. It honestly made me chuckle a bit!!!

This week I managed to lock myself out of a running car. Luckily it was in my driveway. Jeff had to come home and unlock it so that I could turn it off!!!

I performed another RAOK, this time leaving $ in a baggy at Meiners. A locally owned convenient store.

I also decided to dedicate Thursdays as "Thankful Thursdays." I loved all of the "thankful" posts during the month of November. It seems since the first of the year, it has been a lot of negativity going around. In my act of being thankful, I managed to hurt someones feelings...not what I intended. I was trying to give a shout out to the original members of LS MOMS club, the girls who invited me to join. They were my gateway to all my current friends. I guess I didn't word it correctly or something. Things are worked out now (I hope.)

I haven't had any vinyl orders since Christmas. I am getting sad and really miss making stuff!!!! Need to come up with some ideas to get things jumping again!

2013~ new year, new blog!

I have been a slacker at blogging. Mostly because our life has turned into same old, same old. Day in, day out stuff. I also update on Facebook, so it seemed silly to also blog. Not sure I have that much to say.

After the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in December, the suggestion came up to do 26 acts of kindness in rememberance of the victims. Some people vowed to do those acts within a week, or by the end of the year. I wanted to do this but it was Christmas time and I was completely swamped with my new Vinyl Business ( ). I gave up doing resolutions a few years ago (mostly because I always FAILED), so I decided to do more of a bucket list over the past few years. This year I also chose a word to live by. My word is Generous. Generous with my time, money, spirit and love. I had cards made up to honor the Sandy Hook victims with a variety of random acts of Kindness. My hope is that with each act I do, the person will "pass it on" and we will have a year of lots and lots of generous acts of kindness.Of course, I will never actually know if others participate, I can only hope. Since I wanted a way to document my acts, I decided to come back to my blog to share my year long journey. I also have joined a 365 photo project so this seems like a good place to share that too.
My cards arrived yesterday (I ordered 100!), so I thought that now was a good time to start my journey.

Act #1~ Wrote a note to someone who impacted my life when I was a child. I left a heartfelt message on their FB page, probably not the best way to do it, but it was a spur of the moment. I hope my message was received well.

Act #2~ put $2 in an envelope (with a RAOK card) for each of the kids teachers and left a note that said "Please enjoy a cup of coffee on me. Have a nice day"

Act #3~ Put $1.10 in an envelope (above) and taped it on the lids at the QT.

Act#4 ~ Put $2 in envelopes for my bosses and also told them to have a drink on me.


So simple, yet I hope I made at least one person smile today. It really is addicting. My goal is 26, but I have a feeling, it will exceed this number!!!


I also shared some cards with friends so that they can also spread the joy.

Whew! What a day!

Headache

I have a great blogpost wanting to be written but my head has been hurting for the past 2 days, hopefully I will get to write tomorrow.

I just can't seem to get motivated these days, I have so much to do, yet no desire to attack it. I blamed the heat the past few weeks but it reality, it is just me. I think of so many productive things I could do during the day, but yet I get on my laptop and an hour later....my big ideas are out the window. must. make. myself. be. more. productive.

on a comeback....

I've decided that even though I am on several social media sites, I am unable to really express myself. Can't really vent, give back-story, share emotion on Facebook, twitter or other sites. I remember how good it felt when I was able to share whole stories, give true emotion and not feel like I had to censor myself. When I was going through our fertility troubles, so many friends, and family members just didnt know how to ask questions, through my blog( http://www.shellwantsanotherbaby.blogspot.com/ ) I was able to let them know how I was feeling, what we were doing, etc and it was great. I am not a great writer, but I do enjoy expressing myself through words. I hope to get back into journaling, sharing little stories, pictures and other information through this blog again. I enjoy (SO MUCH) reading other people's blogs, and hope that I can re-establish my blog soon.

I suck!

I have dropped the ball when it comes to this blog. Shame on me! I will update it soon and will hopefully make it much more fun!!!

It was the perfect spring day! The kids and I played out in the yard most of the day! Looking forward to when the weather is like this on a regular basis.

say what?

Alexis came in tonight after shopping for prom dresses and showed me a picture of her in a very pretty dress on her phone. The dress did look really nice on her and the color was really pretty......then I asked "THE QUESTION"......how much? I nearly fell off my chair when she said $380!! HUH? I didnt spend that on my wedding dress.....and she wants to buy a gown that she will wear for ONE night, for that amount of money? Lordy! Needless to say, I think we will spend spring break searching for a different dress.
